Waiting For the Partridge Family
What the hell
was I thinking?
I had the perfect family
a thousand times over
but threw them out
on their asses
to turn blue with cold
each and every time.
I fought my way out of
the minivan,
hoping something a little
would come out pick me up
-- me, the lone hitchiker,
more like to pay back with
visceral interior decorating than
smiles and thanks.
