The Road

The darkness swallows me up
Me, the lone figure in the distance
The fog rolls around
An unfortunate afteraffect of the rain
The rain that washed away my sins
The silver rain, that washed away all the gold
The pale moon covered by translucent clouds
Shines above the silver road
I walk along the road
Wondering where I will go from here
I know I can go many different places
And meet many different people
But I still get this feeling
This lonely feeling that I won't ever meet
The one that I can spend my life with
Share my hopes and dreams with
My fears and disappointments with
My soul with.
Never shall I meet you, my soulmate,
My love.
Even though I walk this road in search of you
I fear I will reach the end
And never have known you.
