Ghost

I am the ghost
that walks these halls
avoiding the attention
of those that might see.
Alone in this place
until the end of the day,
I go home at night
to what waits for me.
I eat, I sleep, I breathe.
And in the early morning hours
before the morning birds awaken,
before the sun has stretched his arms
and yawned,
before the informercials have finished
their late night circuit,
I watch the morning stars
and walk into them,
not to return from my friends,
from their stories,
for a few more hours.
I am the morning ghost
that walks these halls,
the one that you don't see.
