The Forbidden Word

My soul leaps for you.
Each breath of air
my lungs sponge up
shoots my body with emotions

My pulse begins to race
when you're around.
These hazel eyes fill up
with tears for you,

even as my tongue longs
to say it, curl itself
around the world.
Even as my heart pounds
keeping time as a beat
for the day I can shout
the forbidden word.
