The 10 O'Clock News

Everynight on the 10 o'clock news
you hear more bad news-
people singing the blues-
car crashes, metal mashes
police light flashes-
Sirens and mourners wail
like Neman of the wind
their voices, as their arms, flail
Mediocre people led to a life of crime
souls damned as they sinned
now left to do their time
their bail more than a dime.
Every night another killing
brought to a head by the anger milling
around in murderer's head like filling.
Every day another battle, another war,
Insignificant causes at the core
Nation's friendships have now tore.
Everynight on the 10 o'clock news
you hear more bad news-
people singing the blues.
